CSE 190 Sp 2000 -- Lecture 8 -- April 27, 2000

tty driver generation of signals (as opposed to via the kill(2) syscall) and a huge diversion to X windows, pseudo terminals, remote X clients, ssh.

A diagram was drawn on the board describing what happens when you hit control-C at the client machine on which the X server is running and the eventual generation of the SIGINT signal via the pseudo terminal driver at the remote server machine where the X client is running. You should make sure you can understand what's going on in this diagram.
